Itinerary

We meet in the morning either in Bled or Kranjska Gora (also available from the Soča Valley as a private departure) to drive to the starting point of our day’s mountain adventure right across the border on the Italian side of the Julian Alps. We start with a beautiful hike through a forest which then continues across open wildflower-strewn meadows with spectacular views of even higher neighboring mountains. On the way to the top we also make a short detour to the 2,008-m Gorenji Rob, yet another charming grassy peak where we can enjoy stupendous 360 views of the mountainous world of the Julian Alps. The last section becomes a bit more technical and you’ll have to use your hands to scramble over a few bits. Those of you who do manage to overcome the last few more exposed details are rewarded with breathtaking panorama from the top. Comfortably seated on the soft grass we can admire the dreamy Lake of Predil, the Trenta and Soča Valleys, and countless gorgeous peaks of the Julian Alps like the 2,753-m Montaž, 2,666-m Viš, a colossal 2K wall with the 2,208-m Rombon, and Jalovec and Mangart, the sixth and the third highest mountains of Slovenia.
