Itinerary

We leave our car in a free parking lot and continue our way up. We pass the Matizovec farm, fill our bottles with fresh spring water, and slowly enter a path through a forest. Deer is regularly spotted in those forests, which should make our hike even more thrilling. The trail passes a scenic meadow where we can take a short break and rest our legs. Following the trail a little bit longer, we arrive at a vast Alpine plateau called the Kofce Plateau with a few mountain huts offering great local food, especially famous chocolate dumplings ("štruklji"). Please note that it's about an 1.5-hour walk to the top for adults, which should make a nice 2.15-hour walk up for young families. For those of you who think you could walk a bit more, we can extend the hike to one of the beautiful peaks above the Kofce Plateau (please let us know beforehand).
