Triglav, the Slovenian Route
1-Day Expert Alpine Tour, Vrata Valley to Vrata Valley
Head into the grand Triglav North Face, a 3-km wide and 1-km high vertical face with over 140 climbing routes winding across it. Our IFMGA certified mountain guides can help you conquer the Slovenian Route, the best classic route across the Face. First climbed in the late 19th century by the hunters from Trenta, it is the first conquered route in the Triglav North Face. The route offers moderate difficulty of climbing and is as such interesting and appropriate to be tackled in both winter and summer conditions. Expect high, steep and breathtaking set in the Alpine world so impressive that it’s almost surreal. Recommended for those who are tackling the great Face for the first time and those who long to return there to feel the excitement and thrill once more.

Itinerary
We park in an Alpine valley called Vrata and head straight towards Triglav, the highest mountain of Slovenia, and its 3-km wide and 1-km high vertical Triglav North Face simply called the Face. The trail, which is not marked, starts in a forest, then continues up as a barely visible path which passes large rocky slopes and a refreshing stream, offering breathtaking views of the Face and other spectacular mountains of the Julian Alps. After the initial pleasurable walk, we strap on our climbing gear and bite into the much steeper Face. The views en route are simply breathtaking and let you into the mysterious vertical world of the Face permeated with a rich history of climbing. The route finishes at the summit of Slovenski Turnc, 2,267 m, and is estimated to last about 5 hours. It is highly recommended to extend this tour over 2 days with the night spent in the Kredarica Hut, conquering Mt. Triglav and then returning back down on the second day.
